Position Summary

Walnut Media is seeking an experienced, dynamic Director of Sales to lead and manage our multi-platform sales efforts across all divisions: Radio, Digital, and Podcasting. Based in Omaha, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing the full and part-time sales team, developing revenue strategies, achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals, and helping drive innovation in a fast-paced media landscape.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve revenue targets across all platforms.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans that align with company goals and market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with programming, marketing, digital, and content teams to create compelling, results-driven campaigns for advertisers.
  • Drive new business development while deepening relationships with existing clients and agencies.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure consistent growth.
  • Recruit, train, and coach sales talent with an emphasis on professional development.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the market by attending client meetings, community events, and industry functions.
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, pricing strategies, and inventory management.

 Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of media sales leadership experience (radio and/or digital strongly preferred)
  • Proven track record of delivering and exceeding revenue goals.
  • Strong knowledge of local and regional advertising markets.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team, while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in CRM tools, sales analytics, and digital advertising platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
