Hiring: Station Manager

Walnut Media is looking for a station manager our new country station in Council Bluffs, IA
A successful candidate will manage personnel and oversee departments such as sales, promotions, local on-air programming, and Administration. Direct and participate in operational planning process for station. Create sales packages and event sponsorships for Account Executives to promote. They will work closely with our corporate sales manager, digital director, VP of marketing and company president that operate out of the Walnut Media Home Office in Omaha.
Qualifications:
A broadcast professional that preferably came up on the sales side and who has a vision and can make things happen is a strategic thinker, organized, creative, and solution-oriented with a proven sales background in broadcast and digital.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in radio sales and management
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
Good knowledge of: small market radio principles, procedures, operations, and standards. Project management principles, practices, techniques and tools.
Experience: operating radio equipment; leading and motivating staff; creating, composing and editing written materials.
Willing to cover an air shift as needed.
