Job Description: Podcast Manager, Walnut Media-Performance Podcasts
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our dynamic team as the manager of Performance Podcast. This position will be responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction of the podcast division of Walnut Media. You will play a critical role in managing podcast production, business development, cultivating relationships with podcast hosts and talent, coordinating marketing and promotion efforts, and ensuring the overall success of our podcasting endeavors.
Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end podcast production process, including business development, scheduling, recording, editing, and post-production marketing.
Collaborate with hosts, producers, and sound engineers to ensure high-quality audio content is produced consistently.
Coordinate cross promotion, interaction and podcast sales with other Walnut Media divisions.
Monitor and manage production budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
Contribute to the overall success or Walnut Media by being available to assist on the radio programming and digital side as needed.
Talent and Relationship Management:
Identify, recruit, and manage a diverse pool of podcast client, podcast hosts, producers, and other talent to enhance our podcast offerings.
Foster positive relationships with clients, guests, and industry professionals to ensure strong collaboration and content development.
Marketing and Promotion:
Develop and implement effective marketing and promotional strategies to increase podcast reach, engagement, and listenership. Work closely with Performance Digital in developing, executing and monetizing marketing partnerships.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling podcast-related content for social media, newsletters, websites, and other platforms.
Operations and Administration:
Manage day-to-day operations of the podcast company, including budgeting, and administrative tasks.
Oversee distribution platforms and ensure podcasts are published on time and available on multiple platforms and locations. The company has studios in Omaha, Council Bluffs and Fremont.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and podcasting best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Team Leadership:
Attend scheduled executive team meetings with the Chairman, President and other members of the senior management team.
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of podcast producers, editors, and support staff.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging creativity, open communication, and professional growth.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs to enhance team productivity and effectiveness.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (communications, media studies, journalism, or similar). Advanced degree preferred.
Proven management experience, preferably within a podcasting company or related industry.
Strong knowledge of the podcasting landscape, including industry trends, distribution platforms, and content creation strategies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with talent, hosts, and industry professionals.
Proficiency in podcast production software, audio editing tools, and content management systems.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
